Heilig-Meyers and Rhodes Furniture combined to eventually earn almost $5 billion a year in revenue from over 2,000 locations in the United States through their 1996 merger. Grand Metropolitan was introduced to the home furnishings retail and finance behemoth in the late 90s when it became aware of Heilig-Meyers prominence as one of the largest jewelers in North America with a consistent 12% of its revenue gained from diamond, gold and silver jewelry sales. The company’s first furniture location was mere steps away from historical icon L.D. Giddens & Sons Jewelry Store in Goldsboro, NC founded in 1859 and another Grand Metropolitan company.

We strive to bring you quality home furnishings from America’s most respected craftsmen. We honor all of our manufacturers’ warranties based on terms and conditions in effect at the time of sale. Warranty terms may vary by manufacturer. After the warranty period, parts and labor may be charged depending on the nature of repair, age of furniture, the manufacturer’s warranty and the repair time required. Manufacturers of upholstery fabrics do not guarantee their products for shrinkage, fading or quality wearing; therefore, we are not able to guarantee fabrics. However, we offer leather and fabric protection as an extra service to keep your leather and fabric looking newer, longer. Ask us about our fabric protection.

 


HOLDING OF MERCHANDISE

We will hold your furniture in our warehouse at NO COST for up to thirty days after you have been notified that your merchandise is available for delivery. If circumstances should arise requiring an extended period of storage we will be happy to continue storage for another thirty days with a payment of 50% of the balance due on your order. After sixty days, full payment is required and delivery will be scheduled.

 


RETURNS

As part of our commitment to guarantee customer satisfaction Heilig-Meyers Furniture will give full refund on non-special/custom orders and non-clearance merchandise returned to store within 48 hours provided it is in original, new condition. Returned merchandise picked-up by our delivery truck may be subject to a minimum pick-up stop charge. Returns of special/custom merchandise are subject to a 25% restocking fee. On all bedding/mattress purchases Heilig-Meyers Furniture satisfaction guarantee is a 30-night comfort test, provided a mattress protector is purchased with the mattress. After the period of comfort test, if you are not comfortable, we will be happy to assist you with a one-time reselection. If your reselection is a lesser value than your original purchase, the difference will be applied to a store credit. Purchased mattress protectors are non-refundable. The bedding guarantee does not apply to adjustable power bases, As-Is, Attic or Clearance Center merchandise.

 


SPECIAL ORDERS

We will be happy to arrange special orders of merchandise to meet your decorating needs. When doing so it is necessary to provide a one-half (1/2) non-refundable deposit. Special orders are non-cancelable and will not be processed without the client’s signature. Heilig-Meyers Furniture normally receives special order merchandise in approximately 8 to 16 weeks.
SPECIAL ORDERS (CUSTOMER’S OWN MATERIAL)
Special orders of upholstered furniture utilizing the customer’s own material with another manufacturer’s frame style will require non-refundable payment in advance.

 


PAYMENT TERMS

Heilig-Meyers Furniture welcomes payment of cash, personal check or major credit card. Payment in full is expected on all purchases that are scheduled for delivery. Purchases that are not yet scheduled will require a 50% deposit and at the time a definitive date for delivery is established, the balance will be requested. Qualified buyers may prefer a Heilig-Meyers Furniture Charge option. A credit application must be filled out and approved no later than three days prior to your scheduled delivery.


SHIP OUTS

We are happy to accommodate your shipping needs to destinations outside of the United States; however, we require that Buyers requesting such ship outs indemnify and hold harmless Heilig-Meyers from any responsibility, liability or expense relating thereto. All items to be shipped out must be paid for in full prior to ship out.


DELIVERIES

Most of the United States are included in our normal delivery area. There will be a per stop charge for all deliveries within those delivery areas. Deliveries outside of our normal delivery area will need to be discussed with your salesperson and the predetermined delivery fee for your area will be charged.
